Bend & Blend
Spring Edition: Colorful & Spicy
Service Description
In his book, Keep Sharp, neuroscientist Sanjay Gupta recommends taking a walk and talking about your problems with a friend as one of the best ways to maintain brain function and cognitive health. On top of that, we'll do some yoga. And eat some yummy food, that you and everyone else who comes brings along to share. Food focus is on the abundance of Spring! Colorful & Spicy! - Anything bitter in taste (greens are in) - Pungent (think of warming spices like black pepper, turmeric, ginger, garlic, cumin, chilli and mustard seeds) - Astringent (lemon, more dark leafy greens, legumes, radishes, and berries). - Mostly plants, and mostly cooked is always a good way to go - For extra glory, include 1 foraged ingredient! Nasturtiums and loquats and whatever else you can find. MEETING POINT at Explore In's Waterfront Hub. WHAT's FIRST? We'll walk to Fort Albert for a 60 minute yoga class with Clare. AND THEN? We'll walk back to the Hub to share our plates! Bring your dog, kids, aunties & uncles, friends, coworkers, and ask your neighbors to come as well! PLEASE NOTE - We are now requesting RSVP by 7pm the night before, just so we can have an idea of numbers on the day. If you can only join for part of the time, shoot us a message so we can keep you updated on our location as the afternoon rolls on. Wear clothes that are comfortable for being outside, and bring a plate. If it's raining, we will do the entire activity at the hub. This is an all weather event. This is a complimentary community event. We can't wait to share with you!
